We are seeking a versatile Server/Bartender to join our team at a private, family-oriented Yacht Club in Shady Side! In this dual role, you will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders, making menu recommendations, crafting traditional and creative cocktails, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in both the dining and bar areas. The ideal candidate is energetic, customer-service-oriented, and adaptable to working shifts as either a server or a bartender depending on the club's needs. We are primarily a WEEKEND operation. This is a great 2nd job!

Responsibilities
- Take food and drink orders accurately and deliver them in a timely manner
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages when scheduled as a bartender
- Confirm patrons are of legal drinking age and follow all state and federal laws for serving alcoholic beverages
- Answer questions regarding the food and beverage menus and make personalized recommendations
- Collect payment, operate the POS, and accurately process member charges
- Clear tables, bus dishes, and maintain a tidy, organized dining and bar area
- Order, maintain, and restock inventory of bar supplies, dining items, and ingredients
- Perform duties associated with opening and closing the dining room and bar, including cleaning and mopping
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, serving, or bartending is highly preferred
- Knowledge of alcoholic beverages, basic mixology, and general dining service standards
- Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages in Maryland
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and transition seamlessly between serving and bartending roles
- Excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment

The Chesapeake Yacht Club is one of the oldest clubs on the Bay with a rich history and has operated continuously since it was chartered on January 8, 1947. It is a private, member-owned club led by an elected Board of Governors, and a full-time management staff oversees daily operations. CYC enjoys a 501 (c) (7) tax status.
